Waiting......waiting.......waiting!

I finally sent off my bead soup mix to Toltec Jewels and now am patiently waiting for my delivery from her. It's going to be so much fun working from somebody else's stash. I hope she has fun with  my selection of beads etc. I tried to make a teaser photo but so far nothing.
I'm still working on my website hopefully will have it up in the next week or so.
It's day 3 of a 4 day weekend for me and I'm really enjoying it. Had a root canal on Friday (oh Joy!) but since then it's been all fun! Monday is Family Day in Ontario so most of us have the day off. Such a civilized holiday  to break up the long, cold and snowy winter. It's -16 degrees Centigrade today but a beautiful clear, sunny day! The best of a Canadian Winter.....Very pretty with snow everywhere and the snow glinting off it.
Had a great day yesterday roaming the funky shops in Roncesvalles Village, one of the coolest shopping areas in Toronto. Lots of independent shops and restos who work hard to provide Local goods or at least made in Canada items.
First stop after a disappointing lunch was the fabulous shoe store named Imelda which has the greatest selection of cool, comfortable and reasonably priced shoes and boots. My friend, Elaine, bought a  very cute pair of white Minnetonka moccasins . We met an artist who works there and also does great wood and embroidery artwork. Her art can be seen @ www.CaseyVonEsteban.com. Please check out her work.......young and talented woman!
The next stop was Sweetpeas' florist and gift shop......very tasty flowers,
greeting cards and decorations  just to name a few of their items. Great atmosphere and so much eye candy! I particularly enjoy their store cat, Jack, a lovely, friendly ginger boyo who's favourite spot is next to the till where he can keep an eye on the whole store.
Last stop was The Mercantile which sells gourmet food items......again mainly locally made products. I bought my favourite treat: Nudge Nudge Fudge which is made in small batches in Stratford, Ontario and has made me give up trying to replicate my Mother's fudge!!!!
If you're ever in Toronto you have to check out this "Hood".....It's in the west end and just happens to be 1 block from where I work so I'm always checking out the shops. Great polish delis and organic green grocers where I do a lot of my shopping.
